Jefferson Park is a new multi-family affordable neighborhood that sits on the site of a demolished post-war public housing development. The 278 units are spread across 9 buildings on a 8.3-acre site that features restoration of the street grid to reconnect the 1940s-era super-block plan to the surrounding vibrant neighborhood. In addition to housing, the project includes a Head Start early education center, community center, and property management and maintenance offices.
BWA Architecture is designing the project to be Passive House Certified. BWA assisted and successfully navigated an extensive public review process. BWA is now completing the construction documents with the expectation that bidding will begin in early-August 2022. The project will receive funding from several private and public sources, including tax-credit financing.
