BWA Architecture was retained by the Brookline Housing Authority (BHA) to design the modernization 90 Longwood Avenue, a 99-unit high-rise affordable housing building in the Coolidge Corner neighborhood of Brookline, MA. The steel framed building with brick masonry façade consists of single bedroom units, was constructed in 1974.
BWA held meetings with BHA Planning and Development staff, property management and operations staff and surveyed residents to obtain a comprehensive understanding of issues and concerns. BWA developed a preliminary design and provided a conceptual cost estimate based on recommendations. BWA is currently completing kitchen, bathroom, and HVAC system modernizations as well as common areas and BHA’s central offices. This project is fully occupied during under construction and includes upgraded landscaping and hardscaping.
