The Josiah Smith Tavern is a wonderful historic asset for the Town of Weston but, until recently, was significantly underutilized and at risk. BWA was privileged to lead the design and oversee construction for a comprehensive revitalization of the Tavern and its site for new uses – a large portion of the building will be leased to a farm-to-table restaurant vendor, and the rest will be used by various histrionically-oriented Town organizations. The Tavern’s marvelous 18th Century character has been preserved in accordance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties and Historic New England Quit Claim Deed requirements.
